Great value breakfast. So close to Central station, light rail & buses. Paddy's Market & Chinatown close by also. Plenty of places to eat, including at the hotel itself.

Location handy to everything. The room size. Being able to leave your bag there while sight seeing. When visiting Sydney my preferred hotel as it's reasonably priced and close to the train station and trams . Good check in service, I will be back

The service is okay in general. The thing is that the hotel is way too old and the room doesn’t have a window that can be opened. I had a serious allergic to the beddings in the room during the time here. I had to go to the pharmacy multiple times. I can just say that here is not a friendly place for those who are super easy to be allergic. And the mattress is a bouncing carnival, which made me hard to fall asleep. The hotel is near the central station and it is convenience for public transportation. The people who work here are amazing.

Best location for public transport and access to the city. Loved to quaintness of the old decor. Great value for money and the ability to have meals onsite is helpful. The pub did not create a disturbance for the guests thankfully.

We love the location it's perfectly located near resturants light rail, circular quay Staff are always fabulous the bar and restaurant service is exceptional food is amazing. The Great Southern is our go to everytime when in Sydney.

I regularly stay at the Great Southern Hotel in Sydney and am always happy with the stay. The location is excellent, right near to Haymarket Light Rail, but not noisy to keep you awake. Recommend rooms on the George Street side for better wifi connection.

We always stay at the Great Southern Hotel when in Sydney. It is a great location, comfortable and full of character being an old style hotel with modern facilities. Staff are always friendly and helpful . Meals are excellent and good value for money. A great place all round.
